About Us

Our vision is to teach people to use the power of the computer at home and at work without disempowering their own body. The rise of debilitating repetitive stress injuries and cumulative trauma disorders caused by working at a computer is alarming.

Since 1997, we have provided our clients low-cost, ergonomically accurate and easy-to-use workplace solutions. We teach people not only how to use their bodies in a powerful and supported way but how to modify their environment to support and maintain these changes with ease.

Our patented flagship product, the PowerBoard™, is a lap-held keyboard platform that enables a user of a computer keyboard to avoid injury from repetitive stress without having to modify the workstation. Our quality products and services are designed to prevent injury and improve working conditions for computer users worldwide to promote a healthy way of life at work.

Backgrounds

Ann Grassel, P.T. :::: President of Grassel and Associates, Inc. and Founder of the PowerBoard Company. Ann has been a licensed physical therapist since 1978. She received her degree in Physical Therapy from Northwestern Medical School in Chicago and her undergraduate degree in Physiology from the University of Illinois. Her specialty has been in sports medicine physical therapy and more recently, since 1994, in ergonomics especially as it pertains to the computer workstation.

When Ann performs ergonomic evaluations she sees the body as a whole and how the parts relate to one another. She has spent years studying movement patterns and how to most efficiently and accurately affect a change in those patterns. She teaches how movement and soft tissue release can be used to change the holding and postural patterns that often contribute to repetitive stress injuries and cumulative trauma disorders. She also teaches people to modify their home and work environments to support the changes that they are making in their lives through their exercise and stretching programs.

She developed and patented the PowerBoard to help her physical therapy clients regain and sustain the power of their bodies during the time they work on the computer. The PowerBoard Company now offers this option to you.
